The principal role of UITIC is to group together the national associations of footwear technicians. Individual members may also be companies, institutes or individuals i.e. those who do not belong to any association (especially in countries where there are no national associations), as well as technical centres and sectorial technological institutes. UITIC currently has members in 24 countries covering the following geographical areas:
